IPD's internship programme offers a good opportunity for local and overseas undergraduate and postgraduate law students to gain exposure in the field of intellectual property administration and protection. The programme may be particularly beneficial to students who already have some knowledge in intellectual property law.
Applications for internship can be made directly to the Internship Coordinator of IPD via email at enquiry@ipd.gov.hk. Please (i) provide your curriculum vitae, and (ii) state your proposed internship period (in entire calendar month(s), e.g. 1 June to 31 August; 1 August to 30 September, etc.)
Applications for internship in the summer should reach us by noon on 1 March of that year. Successful applicants would usually hear from us before 1 May.
The internship programme is a voluntary scheme. There is no employment relationship between IPD and the intern. An intern from overseas will have to arrange for his/her own travel and accommodation, and to obtain a visa for training in Hong Kong (if applicable).
