You may need to maintain your standard patent (R) application by filing Form P9 and paying the maintenance fee. If your application cannot proceed to the second stage (request for registration and grant), you may wish to maintain your application before the expiry of the fifth or any succeeding year from the anniversary of the date of filing the corresponding designated patent application first occurring after the date of publication of the request to record. Failure to maintain your application will result in your patent application being deemed withdrawn. You may use the Online Search System to check the maintenance fee due date of your application, if any.
