The Intellectual Property Department ("IPD") is concerned to ensure that all personal data collected by IPD are handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, including the data protection principles.

IPD may conduct virtual hearings, meetings and conferences in the course of its business by using video conferencing facilities. IPD now uses the platform of Microsoft Teams for the purpose.

For the purpose of conducting the virtual events, different categories of personal data are collected and processed by IPD and Microsoft Teams, which may include:

IPD will only retain personal data for so long as it is necessary for the fulfilment of the purpose (including any directly related purpose). When the personal data that we collect is no longer required, we will destroy or delete it in a secure manner.

Unless permitted or required by law, or for the purpose for which you provide us the information, IPD will not disclose your personal data to any third parties without your prior consent.

IPD implements appropriate measures to protect the personal data collected from unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use.
