The Intellectual Property Department launched a new government TV Announcement in the Public Interest (API) to promote the “No Fakes Pledge” Scheme.  The API features happy shopping atmosphere in Hong Kong with a theme on ‘Look for the “No Fakes” logo, worry-free shopping is so easy!’.

Government has implemented the “patent box” incentive

Invitation to Briefing Session on the Consultation Plan on the Regulatory Arrangements for Local Patent Agent Services

As announced in the 2023 Policy Address, the Government will take the lead in discussing with stakeholders to plan for the introduction of regulatory arrangements for local patent agent services.

The Intellectual Property Department will organize a briefing session for the patent practitioners who are not members of any intellectual property practitioners’ bodies in Hong Kong.  The briefing session will cover the range of regulatory issues concerned and the proposed consultation plan.

Beware of fraudulent calls, scam emails or messages

Some members of the public indicated to have received several calls purportedly made by the Intellectual Property Department (IPD) recently where no application for registration has been filed with the department. After verification, such calls were not made by our staff.

The IPD urges the public to stay vigilant against fraudulent calls, scam emails or messages purportedly made or issued by the department.

For verification of any calls claiming to be from the IPD, please call our hotline at 2961 6901 or email us at enquiry@ipd.gov.hk. You may also seek assistance from the Anti-Scam Helpline at 18222.
